Jackie has had a lifelong dedication to the arts through teaching, community involvement, and her personal love of painting. She has a Master of Arts degree from the U of HCL, and a 27 year career as a high school art teacher where she was named the Clear Creek ISD High School Teacher of the Year. She was awarded a lifetime membership in Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Although retired, she taught drawing at the University of Houston Clear Lake for nine years, and now enjoys teaching and sharing her love of watercolor painting at Alvin Community College, and doing creative workshops for The Watercolor Art Society of Houston, and The Galveston Art League among others.
Her involvement in art related community projects are too numerous to mention. She is an Elite Signature Member and twice past board member of Watercolor Art Society – Houston. She serves on several committees, and is an active member of The Galveston Art League, TWS, NWS, and is a Signature Member, and past Vice President of The National Society of Art. She has had many one person shows, and has won top awards including Best in Show in juried shows, and she was honored as a Hunting Art Prize finalist representing the top 100 artists in Texas. Her paintings have been selected to show in the Texas Watercolor Society’s International Exhibit in San Antonio for two years in a row. She had the honor of being selected for a page included in both the 2014 Incite 2- Color Passions Best of Mixed Media Art book, and also the 2015 Incite 3- The Art of Storytelling book. Many of her paintings are owned by businesses, corporations, and private collections.
