Jackie has had a lifelong dedication to the arts through teaching, community involvement, and her personal love of painting. She has a Master of Arts degree from the U of H Clear Lake, and a 27-year career as a high school art teacher where she was named the Clear Creek ISD High School Teacher of the Year. Although retired, she has taught drawing at the University of Houston Clear Lake for eleven years, and then shared her love of watercolor painting by creating the curriculum, and teaching at Alvin Community College. She now enjoys doing demonstrations and teaching workshops, and showing her paintings.
Her involvement in art related community projects are too numerous to mention. She has been honored as a Hunting Art Prize finalist representing the top 100 artists in Texas. Her work has been selected to be included in many art books, newspapers and local magazines such as: The 2016 “Art Journey, The Best Paintings of Animals in 2016”, and 2017 Featured Artist article published in “The Scene”. She was selected to have a page included in the 2014 “Incite 2- Color Passions Best of Mixed Media Art “book, and the 2015, “Incite 3 – The Best of Mixed Media Competition – Art of Storytelling” book, and has 12 paintings included in the “Century of Island Art” book. She has had many one person shows and has won top awards including Best in Show, and first place awards. Many of her paintings are owned by businesses, corporations, and private collections.
